Royals Players Surprise Ten Year Season Ticket Holders
October 8, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today hopped in the team bus provided by Bieber Tourways but instead of heading to some faraway venue to hit the ice and play a game, the team went to the home of ten-year season ticket holders Janet and David Hurlbrink to personally deliver their season tickets. The Royals, who were decked out in their game jerseys, delivered the tickets to the Hurlbrinks, who were chosen in a random drawing, as a gesture of appreciation for the support shown by all of the team's season ticket holders-and particularly those who have been with the team since the inception of the club in 2001.
"This was a small effort that we could make as a team to show our appreciation for our fans, particularly those who have been with the organization since the very beginning," said Head Coach Larry Courville, who led the team on the ticket delivery run. "It was fun to see the excitement in the faces of our fans when they realized what was going on as we showed up and piled out of the bus."
The Hurlbrinks are one of over two hundred Royals' season ticket holders who have had their seats for all ten seasons that the team has played at the Sovereign Center in Reading. Throughout the 2010-11 season, the Royals, who are celebrating the team's Tenth Anniversary, intend to take several steps to honor fans who have supported the team throughout these past ten years-including a special presentation at the home opener on Saturday, October 23, when the Elmira Jackals at the Sovereign Center.
The Royals cap off the pre-season tomorrow night-Saturday, October 9 (7:05 pm)-at the Sovereign Center when the Trenton Devils visit the Sovereign Center. The regular season kicks off a week from Saturday-on October 16 (7:00 pm)-when the team and the Royals Road Warriors travel to Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey to take on the Devils.
The Royals host the team's tenth anniversary home opener on Saturday, October 23, 2010 (7:05 pm), when the Elmira Jackals visit the Sovereign Center. Also, be sure to catch the Royals' season opener live from Trenton, New Jersey, (@ Trenton Devils Saturday, October 16, 2010 @ 7:00 pm)-and all of the team's away games this year-on Royals TV exclusively on BCTV courtesy of Boscov's Travel, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
