Minnesota Lynx, Metro Transit Team Up to Offer Fans Free Rides

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx, in conjunction with Metro Transit today announced that fans can take advantage of free rides to and from all 17 Lynx homes games this summer, beginning with Minnesota's Home Opener on Saturday, June 6 vs. Chicago. Free rides will be available on Metro Transit buses and trains.

Fans simply need to show their ticket for that day's game to the driver as they board a bus or transit police officer on the Hiawatha light-rail line. Free rides are available two hours before tip off until two hours after the game ends. Dozens of Metro Transit routes travel within a block of Target Center, making it easy to get to and from games.

Metro Transit is a service of the Metropolitan Council. Customers boarded its buses and trains 81 million times last year, the highest annual ridership in 27 years!

The Minnesota Lynx open their 11th year of basketball in the Twin Cities on June 6, 2009 vs. the Chicago Sky at Target Center.
