Storm Announces Final 2009 Roster

SEATTLE, Friday, June 5, 2009 - Five Olympians and four All-Stars highlight the final roster for the Seattle Storm in 2009 - the team's 10th anniversary season.

Returning players from the 2008 Storm season are All-Star Sue Bird, former WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson, forwards Swin Cash and Camille Little, guards Katie Gearlds and Tanisha Wright and center Ashley Robinson. Key additions to the roster are WNBA All-Star guard Shannon Johnson, former Storm centers Janell Burse and Suzy Batkovic-Brown, and rookie Ashley Walker.

The Storm opens its 10th WNBA season at KeyArena against the Sacramento Monarchs on Sunday, June 7 at 6 p.m. PDT, with local radio coverage on Alternative Talk KKNW-AM 1150 and local television coverage on FSN Northwest. On Tuesday, June 9, the Storm takes on the Indiana Fever at 4 p.m. PDT at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on ESPN2, before traveling to play the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, June 12 and the Chicago Sky on Sunday, June 14.
