Washington, D.C. - General Manager Angela Taylor announced today the Washington Mystics' final roster. Following a competitive training camp, Washington finalized its team to 11 players per league rule. The 2009 Mystics team will feature All-stars Alana Beard and Chasity Melvin, veterans Nakia Sanford and Monique Currie as well as young talented players in Lindsey Harding, Crystal Langhorne and Marissa Coleman.
"I have a lot of respect for the 16 players that participated in training camp, they each raised the level of competitiveness in our training camp, which I thought was incredible," said Taylor. "As a result of the efforts and improvements that we have seen in the last two weeks, we are extremely optimistic about the 2009 season because we have a roster that is poised and ready to compete for an Eastern Conference Championship."
