
Miles Nordgren and Cody Stashak join Kernels from Extended Spring Training

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Miles Nordgren and RHP Cody Stashak will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training in Fort Myers, FL. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.
The Twins selected Nordgren in the 23rd round of the 2014 First Year Player Draft out of Birmingham Southern College. He split time last season between Elizabethton and the Kernels, posting a combined 1-3 record and 2.63 ERA. In 17 games (11 starts) he allowed 82 hits and 37 runs (21 earned) with 13 walks and 42 strikeouts in 72 IP.
The Twins selected Stashak in the 13th round of the 2015 First Year Player Draft out of St. John's (NY) University and he spent last season at Elizabethton. In 10 starts, he posted a 5-2 record and 3.43 ERA, allowing 39 hits and 19 runs (17 earned) with 11 walks and 53 strikeouts in 44.2 IP.
Nordgren and Stashak are active and available for today's 1:15 PM game at Quad Cities. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players with five players currently on the DL.
The Kernels continue a five game road trip this afternoon at 1:15 PM at the Quad Cities River Bandits. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Thursday, April 14th and open a four game home stand against the Clinton LumberKings.
