Mavericks to Face Evansville in Opening Round of Playoffs

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks will face the Evansville IceMen in the first round of the Central Hockey League (CHL) playoffs starting this Wednesday, March 28 at Independence Events Center at 7:05 p.m. Due to arena availability in both cities, the best-of-seven series will follow a 1-2-1-1-1-1 format. The third-seeded Mavericks will get the first game of the playoffs, but the second-seeded IceMen will get four of the final six games including game seven (if necessary).
Tickets are on sale now online at www.Ticketmaster.com, by calling (800) 745-3000, or going directly to the Independence Events Center Box Office. The Mavericks' first two home games are on sale now and Game 6 tickets will go on sale Monday at noon.

"We will get everything started on Wednesday night," said Mavericks' President and General Manager Brent Thiessen. "Due to the seeding and a previously scheduled event at Independence Events Center, we had some scheduling issues to work around, but we hope to see the Orange Army during the best time of the year. We will need a loud building to help us get off to a great start in this best-of-seven series."
