INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI - The Missouri Mavericks home record will stand at 29-6-0-1 for the 2015-16 ECHL season, just one win shy of tying the league record for most home wins in a single-season, following a tough 4-1 defeat to the Tulsa Oilers at home on Tuesday night.

The Mavs own the top spot in the ECHL, and earned home ice advantage throughout the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs by clinching the Brabham Cup as regular-season point champions. Missouri will play their first post-season games on Saturday, Apr. 16 (7:05p.m.) and Sunday, Apr. 17 (4:05p.m.). Tickets for Game 1 and Game 2 are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com and in-person at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena box office.

The Oilers, who are still fighting for a berth in the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs, threw everything they had on the ice in the opening period, outshooting the Mavericks 9-3 and scoring twice in those opportunities to take a 2-0 jump on the league-leading Mavs. Ben Murphy and Adam Pleskach were credited with the Tulsa tallies.

Missouri cut into the Oilers lead at 13:53 of the second period when Josh Holmstrom netted his seventeenth goal of the season with a quick backhanded shot, assisted by teammate David deKastrozza.

Tulsa answered back with their third goal of the night with just over two minutes remaining in the second period when Mathieu Gagnon stuffed a loose puck past Mavs net-minder Parker Milner with the help of Brady Ramsay.

Then just 4:19 into the final frame, Brian Nugent expanded the Oilers lead up 4-1 over the Mavericks by burying another loose puck to the back of the Missouri net. The Mavericks outshot the Oilers 10-2 through the third period, but ultimately left the ice without 2 points.

The Mavericks close out their regular season schedule this weekend with a historic first-ever visit to Boise, Idaho to take on the Idaho Steelheads. The back-to-back weekend series begins on Friday, Apr. 8th at 8:10p.m. (CDT) and continues on Saturday, Apr. 9 again at 8:10p.m. (CDT). Fans can catch all the action from one of the Mavericks official watch party locations: Rock & Brews (Overland Park, KS), The Blue Line (Kansas City, MO), or Drumm Farm Gold Club (Independence, MO).
