Martinez Gets The Call From LA

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled defenseman Alec Martinez from the Monarchs and placed defenseman Randy Jones on the injured reserve list (retroactive to Dec. 16), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Martinez, 22, has played in two games with the Kings this season, his first in the NHL. The 6-foot-1, 208-pound native of Rochester Hills, Michigan, has also played in 19 games with Manchester this season, recording eight points (3-58), six penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating.

Jones, 28, suffered an upper body injury during the Kings-Oilers game on Dec. 15. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Quispamsis, New Brunswick has recorded 12 points (4-812) and 12 penalty minutes in 18 games this season.
