
Marlies' Anton Stralman selected from AHL All-Star Classic

The Toronto Marlies, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced today that defenceman Anton Stralman has been selected as a member of the PlanetUSA team for this month's 2008 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Reebok at the Broome County
Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, NY. Stralman is one of 24 players chosen to represent the PlanetUSA team at the All-Star Classic on January 28.
The Tibro, Sweden native has registered 11 points (11 assists) and a plus-three rating in 21 games for the Marlies this season. Stralman recorded a career-high three points (three assists) on October 14, 2007 at Lake Erie. In two playing stints with the parent Maple Leafs, Stralman has played in 14 games, averaging over 11 minutes of ice-time per game. Stralman made his NHL debut on October 23, 2007 versus the Atlanta Thrashers, registering two penalty minutes and over 14 minutes of ice time.
Stralman was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the seventh round, 216th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The Marlies begin an eight-game road trip this evening against the Admirals - AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators - at Milwaukee's Bradley Center with puck drop scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST.
