Des Moines, IA - The American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that Iowa Stars forward Toby Petersen has been selected to the Planet USA AHL All Star team for the 2008 All Star Classic presented by Reebok. The game will be played on Monday, January 28 in Binghamton, New York with a skills competition on Sunday, January 27.

Petersen is currently ranked 12th among AHL players in scoring with 16 goals and 20 assists (16-20-36) and leads Iowa in all three categories as well. The Minnesota native is in his third year with the Stars appearing in 40 games this season after only seeing seven games with Iowa last year before getting a call-up with the Edmonton Oilers. In the 05-06 season Petersen appeared in 79 games with Iowa and led the team with 73 points (26-47-73).

Petersen is the third Stars player in three years to be selected to the AHL All Star Classic. Joel Lundqvist and Junior Lessard were selected to the All Star teams in 2007 and 2006, respectively.
