Worcester Sharks News Release
WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr has announced that the Worcester Sharks will be hosting the 2nd Annual Worcester Sharks Hockey School presented by Ice Works Elite Hockey Training which will offer local youth hockey players the experience of a lifetime. In conjunction with Brian Payne, the owner of Ice Works "Elite Hockey Training", the Worcester Sharks will be conducting a hockey school for players of all abilities during the February school vacation week (February 18th-21st) at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, MA. The hockey school will be available to all players between the ages of 8-14 years old.
The 2nd annual Worcester Sharks hockey school will expose the players to a pro-level environment and all the amenities that the professional athletes train with. With the curriculum based on the structure of the "Elite Hockey Training" camp of Ice Works, the players will cover all aspects of their game. With a coaching staff consisting of current Worcester Sharks players and appearances by head coach Roy Sommer and assistant coach David Cunniff, and San Jose Scout Cap Raeder, the players are ensured to improve their skills throughout the week. The highlight of the week will be a catered luncheon with all of the Worcester Sharks players: a tremendous opportunity for campers to sit down with their favorite Sharks players and ask one-on-one questions, capture individual photographs and seek autographs. At the conclusion of the week, all of the players will receive a gift package, which will include a Worcester Sharks t-shirt, and two complementary tickets to a Worcester Sharks game to cheer on their "new" buddies.
The following is a guideline of the Sharks Hockey School:
● 40 Total Hours of Training ● 12-15 Hours of On-Ice Instruction
● 10 Hours of Professional Dry land Training - Specialized lectures by Worcester Sharks personnel
● Video Analysis ● Nutritional & Academic Classroom Instruction
● Team Building Activities - Appearances by Worcester Sharks players and coaches throughout the week
- Catered luncheon with the entire Worcester Sharks hockey team
