January 10, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release

HARTFORD, January 10, 2008: The American Hockey League today named Hartford Wolf Pack center Greg Moore to the Planet USA team for the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Reebok, which takes place January 27-28 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, NY. Moore will lock horns in the All-Star Classic with Wolf Pack teammate Nigel Dawes, selected yesterday to the Canadian squad for the AHL's showcase event.

Moore leads the AHL in plus/minus, at a +22, tops the Wolf Pack club in goals with 17, and ranks tied for second on the team in points, with 34 in 34 games. The former University of Maine Black Bear's goal total is good for a tie for fifth among AHL shooters. Moore, a native of Lisbon, Maine, is currently on recall to the parent New York Rangers, for whom he has skated in three NHL contests this season. As a rookie last year, Moore totaled eight goals and 17 assists for 25 points in 79 AHL games with the Wolf Pack.

Originally drafted in the fifth round (143rd overall) by the Calgary Flames in 2003, Moore was acquired by the Rangers, along with Blair Betts and Jamie McLennan, from the Flames March 6, 2004, in exchange for Chris Simon and a seventh-round draft pick.

The Wolf Pack are back in action tomorrow night, Friday, January 11th, starting a three-game road trip with a contest in Norfolk vs. the Admirals (7:15 PM faceoff). The Pack and Norfolk battle again Saturday evening (7:15), before the Wolf Pack move on to Hershey for a 5:00 date with the Bears on Sunday. The Pack's next home game at the XL Center is this Wednesday night, January 16th, vs. the Worcester Sharks (7:00).
