Aeros' defenseman Erik Reitz selected to PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team

HOUSTON, Texas - The American Hockey League (AHL) announced today that Houston Aeros' defenseman Erik Reitz has been assigned to the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team for the 2008 All-Star Classic presented by Reebok. Reitz was voted in by fans as a starter, his first AHL All-Star Classic appearance, for the team comprised of players born outside of Canada. The game will be played on Monday, January 28 in Binghamton, New York with a skills competition on Sunday, January 27.

Other starters for the PlanetUSA team are: Tuukka Rask - Providence goaltender, Matt Lashoff - Providence defenseman, Joakim Lindstrom - Syracuse forward, Bobby Ryan - Portland forward and Brett Sterling - Chicago Forward.

A total of 24 players - 13 forwards, eight defensemen, and three goaltenders - make up the team. AHL fans determined the starting lineup via online balloting at theahl.com, while a committee of AHL coaches selected the remainder of the roster.
