Mario Larocque Released From PTO

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have released defenseman Mario Larocque from a professional tryout contract.

Larocque signed with the Sound Tigers last Thursday and played in two road games over the weekend. The 6'4'' 210-pound blueliner has posted two penalty minutes during a pair of two-game stints with the Sound Tigers, as well as five goals, eight assists, 13 points and 154 penalty minutes in 36 games with the United Hockey League's Danbury Trashers this season.

The Sound Tigers will finish a stretch of seven straight road games with a three-in-three-night weekend when they visit the Manchester Monarchs this Friday, March 24th at 7:35 p.m., the Hartford Wolf Pack this Saturday, March 25th at 7 p.m. and the Springfield Falcons this Sunday, March 26th at 4:05 p.m. All Sound Tigers games are web-cast live at www.soundtigers.com. Fans can also watch all AHL games live on the Internet via the B2 Networks pay per view.
