Maple Leafs Assign Kidd to St. John's

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Wednesday that they have assigned goaltender Trevor Kidd to the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League for conditioning. He is expected to start tonight when St. John's faces off against the Milwaukee Admirals.

Kidd, 31, appeared in 19 games for Toronto last season and had a record of 6-10-2 with a 3.10 goals against average. He has played 372 career NHL games for Calgary, Carolina, Florida and Toronto compiling a record of 134-157-50 with a 2.28 goals against average along with 18 shutouts.

The native of Dugald, Manitoba was signed by Toronto as an unrestricted free agent August 26, 2003. He was originally Calgary's first choice, 11th overall in the 1990 Entry Draft.
