November 26, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Providence Bruins News Release
The Providence Bruins began a Thanksgiving holiday stretch of four games in five nights on Wednesday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence, as they skated to a 3-1 victory over the Springfield Falcons. With the win, the Bruins improved to 9-6-4-0 (22 points) on the season, putting them in third place in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins are just one point behind the second place Manchester Monarchs and three points behind the division-leading Hartford Wolf Pack. The win was the Bruins' season-high third straight on home ice, and extended its season-high home unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1-0).
Providence defenseman Kevin Dallman notched the game-winning goal at 14:04 of the third period, on his first goal of the season. Rookie right wing Colton Orr tallied his first professional goal, while center Andre Savage added his third goal of the year, along with an assist.
Bruin goaltender Tim Thomas stopped 28 shots to improve to 4-3-1 on the season.
Prior to the start of the game, the Bruins' wives and girlfriends concluded their Thanksgiving Food Drive. Non-perishable food items were collected for the third straight home game, for donation to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. The Providence Bruins players also made a donation to the Food Bank of two Thanksgiving dinners for needy families.
The Bruins return to action with two home games this weekend, beginning on Friday, November 28, when they host the Portland Pirates at 7:05 p.m. They also host the Albany River Rats on Sunday, November 30 at 4:05 p.m.
The Bruins are currently offering a Holiday FlexTix Special. The Special gives fans the opportunity to receive a free Providence Bruins hat, with the purchase of 10 FlexTix. The Holiday FlexTix promotion runs through December 31.
