
Magic Defeat Charge 116-104 for Fifth Consecutive Victory

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeat the Canton Charge 116-104, in front of a home crowd at the RP Funding Center.
The Charge had a strong first quarter outscoring the Magic 34-28 but the Magic took over in the second quarter with a 17-4 run to take a 65-61 lead into the locker room at the half. The Magic continued to build upon the momentum in the third outscoring the Charge 22-15 and maintained control with an 11-point lead (87-76) moving into the fourth quarter. The fourth was a back and forth contest but the Charge couldn't overcome the deficit and would fall to the Magic 116-104.
For the Magic, Amile Jefferson recorded his seventeenth double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds. John Petrucelli and Troy Caupain both had 18 points. BJ Johnson contributed 16 points and 5 rebounds. Antonio Campbell scored 13 points and 3 rebounds. Gabe York added 12 points on the night.
Malik Newman came off the bench from the Charge to lead the team in scoring with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. JaCorey Williams had 20 points and 7 rebounds. Scoochie Smith had 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Levi Randolph had 14 points and Kobi Simmons had 13 points.
The Magic are back home at the RP Funding Center to face off against the Greensboro Swarm on Friday, January 25 at 7:00PM.
