Charlotte Checkers News Release

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Charlotte Checkers announced today that left winger Steve MacIntyre has been reassigned to Charlotte by its AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. The Checkers also announced the signing of Asheville Aces left winger, Chris Ferguson. The announcements were made by Checkers Head Coach Derek Wilkinson.

MacIntyre dressed for one game with Hartford on November 10 versus the Hershey Bears and was held pointless, but amassed nine penalty minutes. Those came after a slug-fest with Hershey tough guy and former NHL vet, Dennis Bonvie. They fought to a draw. With the Checkers so far this season, MacIntyre has a +1 rating with 4 penalty minutes.

Before joining the Checkers, Chris Ferguson started the 2004-05 season with the Asheville Aces where he tallied two goals, one assist, and 47 penalty minutes over six games this year. Last year, Ferguson posted 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points in as many games with the St. Lawrence Falcons. He spent 52 minutes in the penalty box during that campaign.
