Nowak Named ECHL Player of the Week

Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release


ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, are proud to announce that center Brett Nowak has been selected as the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for the week of November 8-14.

Nowak, 23, tallied two game-winning power play goals and added seven assists to lead the Bullies to a perfect 4-0 record for the week. With 9 points in four games, Nowak had the most productive week for any Bullies player going back to Luke Curtin who tallied 9 points the week of January 4, 2004. The New Haven, CT native is second on the team and tied for fifth in the ECHL with eight assists while ranking second on the club and tied for seventh in the league in scoring with 12 points.

Nowak was a fourth round draft choice of the Boston Bruins in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Goaltender Jake Moreland also finished runner-up to Reading's Cody Rudkowsky for the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week. Moreland was 4-0 for the week with a 2.00 goals against average and a save percentage of .931%

The Bullies continue their season-long seven-game home stand at 7:05PM on Tuesday against the Dayton Bombers. Help the Bullies and the Salvation Army of Atlantic County with the second annual "Bring On The Warmth" coat drive. For each new or used coat in good condition donated to the Salvation Army, fans can receive a voucher good for a $1 Mezzanine Level ticket to any Boardwalk Bullies home game in 2004-05.
