Gulls Host Pooch Party On Wednesday

November 16, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Gulls will host the first-ever "Pooch Party" on Wednesday, allowing fans to bring their dogs to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Bakersfield Condors.

The Gulls have a special entrance and a special section for their canine guests, who will be admitted free of charge when accompanied by a human companion who has purchased a ticket. In addition to being on a leash, dogs must provide proof that their vaccinations are current and a waiver of liability must be signed.

In the interest of safety for both fans and dogs, any dog that becomes aggressive will be relocated on the first instance, and asked to leave on the second instance. Dogs will be allowed to leave the building to visit a designated comfort area, and will be allowed re-entry with a valid ticket stub.

The Greenville Grrrowl on Saturday had the ceremonial first puck drop performed by Cash, an 18-month-old German Shepard, and Office Hal Harris, who are both members of Greenville County Sheriff K-9 Unit. Cash and Officer Harris were selected for the game as part of a program that honors local individuals who have shown great leadership in the community.
