Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx today added depth up front with the acquisition of Diasuke Obara from the Charlotte Checkers for cash considerations.

Obara, 23, appeared in 24 games with Charlotte this season, notching five goals and 11 points. The Hokkaido, Japan native also added 6 PIMs and a +5 rating. The 5-9, 172 lb. forward also played four games with the Peoria Rivermen earlier this season without recording a point.

"We are actively seeking to make this team better all the time," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Stan Drulia. "We're just trying to find guys who are the right fit for our team."

The Lynx will be back on the ice this Friday night against the Roanoke Express, and Saturday night against the Columbia Inferno. Both home games are slated for 7:35 pm starts, followed by a 3 pm Sunday matinee contest against the Checkers in Charlotte. Tickets for these and all remaining home games may be purchased through the Augusta Richmond County Civic Center Box Office Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, or through all TicketMaster locations, on line at www.TicketMaster.com, or charge by phone at (706) 828-7700.
