FRESNO, CA (February 4, 2004) – The Trenton Titans were able to stave off a late rally by the Fresno Falcons with the help of two goals by rookie forward Bryce Cockburn and skate away with a 3-2 win in front of 3135 fans at the SaveMart Center.

Cockburn put the Titans on the board first at 12:48 of the first period when he deflected a point shot past Falcon goaltender Mike Brusseau giving the Titans a 1-0 lead.

The native of Campbell Riva, BC would get in on the second Titans goal as well, as he and BJ Kilbourne worked give-and-go breaking into Fresno's zone. Kilbourne took Cockburn's pass in the slot and wristed it past Brusseau for two-goal Titans lead.

The Falcons refused to go away, however, as they cut the Titans cushion in half at 11:53 of the third period on Kory Mullin's slapshot from the point.

Cockburn put the Titans back up by two on a great individual effort. With teammate Mathieu Brunelle in the box, Cockburn tipped a pass up to the point out of the Titans zone and was off to races. As the puck came into the Falcon's end, Brusseau came far out his net to play the puck, but Cockburn him to the punch and was able to send his shot into the wide-open net for a 3-2 lead. It was the Titans ninth shorthanded goal of the year and Cockburn 's third goal in his last three games.

John Wroblewski pulled the Falcons within one late in the game on a power play goal. The Titans would weather the storm for the remaining 2:55 and seal the 3-2 win. Andrew Allen turned away 25 shots, raising his record to 15-11-4. Both team combined for four fights in the final period of play.

The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans play at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. The Titans finish their series against the Fresno Falcons on Friday, February 6 at 7:00pm.
