Lupul selected to play in 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Cincinnati Mighty Ducks right wing Joffrey Lupul has been selected to the Canadian All-Star Team for the 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic, as announced by the American Hockey League Wednesday.

The 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic will be held February 13-14 at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH. The event begins Sunday, February 13, with the All-Star Skills competition, and concludes with the 2005 AHL All-Star Game the following evening. The 2005 AHL All-Star Game will air exclusively on ESPN2 in the United States and Rogers Sportsnet in Canada, live to viewers across both countries. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. EST Monday, February 14.

Lupul, 21, has played 45 games with Cincinnati this season, leading the team in points (37), goals (15), assists (22), power-play goals (five), game-winning goals (four), unassisted goals (three) and shots (176). The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta was the seventh overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and is playing in his second professional season. Last season, he had 13 goals and 21 assists in 75 games with Anaheim and three goals and two assists in three games with Cincinnati.
