Ulmer and Verot Present "Goals For Success" at Riverton Elementary School

PORTLAND, ME - Today, Pirates players Darcy Verot, Jason Ulmer and broadcaster Greg Glynn visited the Riverton Elementary School in Portland, as the Pirates presented their fourth "Goals for Success" program sponsored by Maine Healthy Partnerships and Pepsi.

The players spoke to the students about the importance of setting goals, making healthy lifestyle choices with food and exercise, and saying no to alcohol and drugs. The players also talked about their own personal experience growing up and playing hockey.

The hour-long presentation ended with a question and answer session followed by an autograph signing and all students received a voucher good for a ticket to an upcoming Pirates game.

The Pirates next home game will be Saturday, Hockey Night in Portland as the Pirates face the Providence Bruins 7:05 p.m. It will be Dunkin' Donuts Night! The first 2,500 fans will receive a Dunkin' Donuts travel mug and free hot chocolate samples will be available in the lobby. It will also be New England Patriots Cheerleaders Night. The cheerleaders will perform during the first intermission, and sign autographs during the second intermission.
