
Lumberkings Saw Down the Captains 7-2

Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH)- Clinton used the long ball on Saturday night at Classic Park to even their weekend series with Lake County with a 7-2 win. Mickey Wiswall went 3-for-4 with two homeruns and three runs batted in to lead the way.
Wiswall singled to centerfield to reach in the first inning. The Lumberkings made it 1-0, when Kalian Sams singled in Wiswall. Stefan Romero doubled in Sams pushing Clinton in front, 2-0.
In the third inning, Wiswall hit his first homerun of the game with a solo shot to right field to make it 3-0 Lumberkings.
Clinton hit a pair of two run homeruns in the fifth inning. Wiswall hit the first blast to straight away centerfield, his fifth of the season. Sams hit his seventh of the year as the L'Kings jumped ahead 7-0.
The Captains avoided the shutout scoring a pair of runs in the eighth inning. Giovanny Urshela drove in LeVon Washington who singled to make it 7-1. Washington had a pair of singles and extended his hit streak to eight games. Alex Monsalve made it 7-2 with a sacrifice fly to center to score Carlos Moncrief.
James Paxton (2-2) earned the win tossing five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, walking four and striking out nine. Jordan Cooper (1-2) suffered the loss allowing seven runs, six earned on eight hits, walking one and striking out six, which matches his career high.
Lake County and Clinton will wrap up their weekend series Sunday afternoon from Classic Park at 1:00PM. Taking the mound for the Captains in the finale will be RHP Cole Cook (2-5) matched up against RHP Forrest Snow (1-7) for the Lumberkings. Sunday is an Andrews Osborne Academy Family Fun Sunday and will feature a pre-game player autograph session, expanded concourse entertainment and activities, an enhanced Kids' Zone area with new inflatables and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game. Kids who run the bases after the game will receive an Andrews Osborne Academy water bottle.
