LANSING, Mich. - Drew Hutchison struck out nine batters in six impressive innings, combining with Dayton Marze on a four-hit shutout, as the Lansing Lugnuts (32-22) blanked the Burlington Bees (38-19), 6-0, on Saturday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

Facing a Bees offense that had compiled season highs with 13 hits and 13 runs the previous night, Hutchison (Win, 3-2) was masterful, limiting Burlington to merely a Tyreace House third inning single and a Royce Consigli sixth inning double.

Marze finished up the final three innings in businesslike fashion, whiffing three Bees, to notch his second save.

Burlington starter Blake Hassebrock (Loss, 3-2) was unable to keep pace with Hutchison, as the Lugnuts' offense bounced back after a rough performance Friday. The Burlington ace was reached for four runs on eight hits and four walks in just five innings.

All-Star reliever Zach Thornton fared no better, committing one of three Bees errors and serving up four hits and two runs in his three frames.

Bryson Namba and Marcus Knecht spearheaded a 12-hit attack with identical 3-for-4 performances, Namba supplying a pair of RBI singles while Knecht scored three runs and doubled for the Lugs' only extra-base hit. Jack Murphy and K.C. Hobson each collected two hits in support.

The Lugnuts start righty Daniel Webb (4-4, 6.43) against Bees right-hander Josh Bowman (5-1, 2.77) in the rubber match of the series, a 2:05 p.m. Kids Day on Jackson Field.
