Three Dragons to Play in MWL All-Star Game

DAYTON, OHIO - Dayton Dragons starting pitcher Josh Smith and Daniel Corcino and first baseman Dominic D'Anna have been selected to play in the 2011 Midwest League All-Star Game in Davenport, Iowa on June 21.

Smith leads the Midwest League in strikeouts and is eighth in earned run average at 1.90. He has posted a record of 5-3 in 11 starts. Opposing batters have combined to hit just .203 against Smith. He was signed as a 2010 21st round draft pick by the Reds out of Lipscomb (Tenn.) University. Smith is a native of Margate, Florida.

Corcino is second in the league in victories (7) and trails only Smith in the strikeout race. He is 7-3 with a 2.72 ERA in 11 starts. Corcino has limited opposing batters to a .212 average against him. Corcino was signed as an international free agent by the Reds in 2008.

D'Anna is batting .278 with three home runs and a team-leading 28 runs batted in. He has also added 12 doubles and a triple and leads the team in walks (28). D'Anna was the Reds 31st round draft pick in 2010 out of Cal State Northridge.
