
Louisville Tops Indianapolis, 7-6

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats (24-34) beat the Indianapolis Indians (32-23) by a 7-6 score at Louisville Slugger Field. Brian O'Grady went 2-for-3 with a home run, his team-leading 15th of the season.
O'Grady started the Bats off in the first with a two-run homer to score himself and Alex Blandino from third. The Bats extended their lead in the second inning when Christian Colon hit a bases loaded single to score Stuart Turner and Sherman Johnson. O'Grady followed with a single of his own to score Blandino to put the Bats up 5-0.
The Indians put their first run across the board in the third. Jung Ho Kang, who went 4-for-5 on the night, singled to score Steven Baron from third. Baron led off the fifth inning with a single for Indianapolis. Baron came around to score after Corey Dickerson walked and Kang doubled to bring the score to 5-2.
The Bats countered those two runs with two of their own in the fifth inning. O'Grady walked and Phillip Ervin singled, with Scott Schebler doubling to score them both to put Louisville back up by five.
In the seventh Baron and Nick Franklin had back to back singles followed by a walk to Ke'Bryan Hayes to load the bases for the Indians. Dickerson hit a sac fly to left field to score Baron. Another set of back to back singles from Kang and Will Craig scored two more runs. Sac fly number two of the inning, this one from Jason Martin scored another run to put the score at 7-6.
Louisville held Indianapolis scoreless in the last two innings only allowing three hits. Ian Krol got the save for Bats, his first on the season, pitching an inning, giving up a hit and striking out one. The score remained 7-6 allowing the Bats to pull of their first win against the Indians at home this season.
In his Bats' debut, Brad Markey (1-0, 3.00) got the win and a quality start pitching 6.0 innings giving up two runs on four hits, walking three and striking out one. The loss went to Indians' Dario Agrazal (3-2, 3.19) in his 5.0 innings pitched. He gave up seven runs on the same amount of hits, walked two and struck out four.
Louisville stays home for game three of the three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates Triple-A affiliate Indianapolis Indians. First pitch is set for Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. It'll be a righty matchup with Keury Mella (4-4, 4.71) set to pitch for the Bats against Luis Escobar (0-0, 2.51) for the Indians.
