NORFOLK, Va. - Left-hander Zach Logue turned in his first quality start with Gwinnett, but the Stripers (12-12) couldn't back him with offense in a 5-1 loss to the Norfolk Tides (10-15) on Friday night at Harbor Park. The loss snaps Gwinnett's three-game winning streak.

Decisive Plays: Kyle Stowers opened the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning off Logue. The Stripers cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second on a two-out RBI single by Phillip Evans scoring Luis Liberato. Norfolk got that run back in the second on a sacrifice fly by Errol Robinson, but never scored against Logue again. Michael Perez added a solo homer and RBI single to increase the Tides' lead to 5-1.

Key Contributors: Logue (L, 0-2) lost despite a solid 6.0-inning effort (3 H, 3 ER, 1 HR, 2 BB, 5 SO). Evans went 2-for-4 with Gwinnett's lone RBI, and Liberato went 1-for-3 with a double and run scored. For Norfolk, rehabbing Kyle Bradish (W, 1-0) pitched 5.0 one-run innings and struck out six, and Justin Armbruester (S, 1) tossed 4.0 scoreless innings with six more strikeouts.

Noteworthy: Logue's quality effort was the fifth by a Striper this season and second in two games, as Dylan Dodd also recorded one on Thursday afternoon. Following an 0-for-29 slump, Evans has five hits in his last 10 at-bats. Gwinnett's homer drought has reached seven games, with the last coming from Sandy Leon on April 17 vs. Memphis.

Next Game (Saturday, April 27): Gwinnett at Norfolk, 6:35 p.m. ET at Harbor Park. Broadcast: 6:20 p.m. ET on MyCountry993.com. RHP Darius Vines (0-0, 3.75 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Stripers, opposite RHP Chayce McDermott (0-1, 3.48 ERA) for the Tides.

Next Home Game (Tuesday, April 30): Gwinnett vs. Durham, 11:05 a.m. ET at Coolray Field. Broadcast: 10:50 a.m. ET on MyCountry993.com and Bally Live. Area schools will be in attendance for the matinee game on the second Education Day of the season.
