SASKATOON, SK - The Saskatoon Blades are leaving 2021 on a high note.

Draft-eligible forward Brandon Lisowsky paved the way on Thursday night with his second career hat-trick as the Saskatoon Blades took down the Prince Albert Raiders 6-4 in front of a home crowd at SaskTel Centre.

Lisowsky is now tied with Kyle Crnkovic for the most goals on the team with 19, while newcomer Kyron Gronick netted two assists in his second game with the Blades. Forward Jayden Wiens, captain Aiden De La Gorgondiere, and alternate captain Tristen Robins also had multi-point nights, while the Blades newest player Noah Boyko got an assist in his first game in blue and gold.

Nolan Maier needed just 11 saves in a game which didn't see Prince Albert gain possession often at all. Maier's 14th win of the year, and 105th of his career, helped the Blades improve to 17-12-1-1 on the campaign.

It's the second straight game in which a Blade has lit the lamp three times, following alternate captain Kyle Crnkovic from Tuesday.

Raiders Tikhon Chaika stopped 15 of 20 shots before being replaced by Cole Tisdale as Prince Albert falls to 12-17-1-1 on the year.

After Prince Albert jumped to a 2-0 lead early in the second period, Saskatoon responded on the power play 3:45 later. A shot from Wiens was stopped, but Lisowsky was there to bury his 17th of the year as the Blades cut the Raiders lead in half.

Lisowsky netted his second of the night just over five minutes later thanks to a perfect feed from Gronick, squaring the game at 2-2.

Raiders' Sloan Stankick found the back of the net with 44 seconds left in the second, but the goal went under review and was eventually overturned on a missed offside call.

Both squads finished the second knotted at twos, but the Blades got the early jump in the third. Just 34 seconds in, Gronick found the captain alone in the slot, who ripped home the go-ahead goal.

Lisowsky completed the hat-trick at the 6:59 mark thanks to a tremendous solo effort, stripping the puck clean from a Raiders defender in the slot and snapping it by Chaika.

Wiens joined the scoring parade when he deflected a long, point shot from De La Gorgendiere, putting the Blades up 5-2. The Raiders pulled Chaika after the goal as Tisdale would finish the game for Prince Albert. Robins would get in on the scoring action after his highlight-reel goal made it 6-2 Saskatoon.

Prince Albert bit back with a pair of goals late, but any hope for a comeback was quickly dismissed with several key saves from Maier, and strong defensive play in the final minutes by the boys.

This is the second victory over Prince Albert this week, following up a 4-1 win at the Art Hauser Centre on Monday in Saskatoon's first game back since Christmas. Saskatoon's earned five of a possible six points since coming back from the break, scoring 16 goals over the last three games.

The Blades are back at home on Saturday night as they look to start the year off with another win, hosting the Edmonton Oil Kings at SaskTel Centre.
