Tonight
The Saskatoon Blades play the final game of 2021, welcoming their closest rivals, the Prince Albert Raiders, to SaskTel Centre.
This is the sixth meeting of the season between the two foes, and fourth contest against the Raiders in the Blades last five games.
Saskatoon handed the Raiders a 4-1 loss in their first game back from Christmas on Monday, Dec. 27th, with rookie Rowan Calvert scoring the game-winner in his WHL debut.
Prior to the Christmas break, the two teams split a home-and-home series, beginning with Saskatoon topping P.A. 3-2 on Dec. 17th. That was followed up with the Raiders earning a 4-1 victory in Saskatoon the next night.
The Blades are looking to get back in the win column after dropping a 7-6 decision via shootout on Tuesday to Red Deer.
New to Town
Saskatoon is expecting two members of the team to make their Blades debuts following two trades this week.
Defenceman Ryan Nolan was acquired from Medicine Hat in a three-team trade involving Prince George on Tuesday, while veteran forward Noah Boyko joins the team after being traded from Lethbridge on Wednesday.
Forward Kyren Gronick was acquired by the Blades in the same trade as Ryan Nolan, and made his Blades debut against Red Deer on Tuesday, earning an assist on Saskatoon's fourth goal.
