ICE CHIPS
The Winnipeg ICE continue a four game, six day road trip tonight against the Broncos.
Forward Jack Finley has scored in back to back games as the ICE have earned three out of a possible four points following a 5-4 overtime loss Monday in Brandon and a 4-2 victory last night in Regina.
Winnipeg is currently in the midst of playing seven of eight games on the road.
ICE VS BRONCOS
The ICE are 3-0 vs Swift Current, with two games remaining after tonight (Oct 17 @ Wpg 3-1 W / Nov 19 @ SC 4-3 W / Nov 24 @ Wpg 7-0 W / tonight @ SC / Feb 12 @ Wpg / Feb 26 @ SC).
The ICE are 14-1 vs the Broncos in their last 15 games.
WELCOME TO THE DUB
16 year old defenseman Ashton Cumby made his WHL debut last night. The ICE recalled Cumby from the Lloydminster Bobcats of the Alberta Elite U18 AAA Hockey League yesterday afternoon.
The 6'5", 207 pound blue liner, from Bonnyville, Alberta, has 10 points (five goals and five assists) and 76 penalty minutes in 24 games with the Bobcats this season.
Cumby was selected in the fourth round, 80th overall in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
Cumby is the eighth player the ICE have welcomed into the WHL this season (Omen Harmacy, Josh Mettimano, Evan Friesen, Jonas Woo, Brayden Edwards, Ty Fraser and Aiden Oiring).

Daniel Hauser has won back to back starts and is 12-0-1 in 13GP this season.

WORLD JUNIOR HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP
ICE defensemen Carson Lambos represented Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Edmonton and Red Deer. It marked the second straight World Junior Hockey Championship where a member of the Winnipeg ICE played for Team Canada. Forward Peyton Krebs had eight points (three goals and five assists) in seven games last year.
Defenseman Maximilian Streule represented Team Switzerland.
OH CANADA
ICE forward Zach Benson took part in the Capital City Challenge November 26th to December 1st in Ottawa winning a Gold medal. In the Gold Medal game, Benson scored the tying goal for Team Black with 0.4 seconds remaining in regulation time to force overtime. They beat Team Red 5-4. Benson led all players in the event with seven goals and 12 points.
WHL HISTORY
With their 11th win of the season October 27th in Calgary, Winnipeg won the most consecutive games to open a WHL season since 2006 eclipsing the previous mark of 10 games set by the 2014-15 Kelowna Rockets and 2006-07 Vancouver Giants.
A 3-1 loss in Edmonton October 29th saw the ICE fall one game short of tying for the longest winning streak in WHL history to start a season. The 1988-89 Swift Current Broncos hold the record of 12 straight wins before losing in Saskatoon October 30, 1988.
