Limited Tickets Still Available for LA Galaxy's May 22 Home Match against Houston Dynamo FC
May 19, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
LA Galaxy News Release
LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy today announced programming around the club's home match, presented by Freeway Insurance, against Houston Dynamo FC at Dignity Health Sports Park at 5:00 p.m. PT on Sunday, May 22 (Spectrum SportsNet, LAGalaxy.com). The Galaxy have sold out the first five home matches at Dignity Health Sports Park to begin the season, averaging 25,474 fans per match.
In celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month, the Galaxy collaborated with professional boxer Brandun Lee and local brand Japangeles for two limited-edition t-shirts. Additionally, Lee will take part in the game-day experience through a stadium giveaway, an autograph session and inclusion in the new Scarves Up moment tradition. The first 10,000 fans to enter Dignity Health Sports Park will be given an LA Galaxy x Brandun Lee poster.
SoccerFest
In advance of their July 30 event at Dignity Health Sports Park, Nitro Circus will be present at SoccerFest on Sunday. The Nitro Circus booth will feature different contraptions and bikes the athletes will use at the July 30 show. Guest this Sunday can visit SoccerFest, the Galaxy's pregame festival area, on the main concourse at Dignity Health Sports Park. Lee will sign autograph cards in SoccerFest when gates open until 4:15 p.m. PT.
Merchandise
Both retail connections for this match are in honor of AAPI Month, and both Japangeles and Brandun Lee are long-time Galaxy fans and LA natives. The collaborations will go on sale during the Houston Dynamo match on May 22, and will continue to be featured in the LA Galaxy Team Store throughout the month of May. The Nihon LA Crest Tee is a collaboration with Japangeles, a local Los Angeles brand located in Little Tokyo. Japangeles brings the mixture of the Japanese culture and the LA lifestyle together. The Honor Tee was designed with Brandun Lee, a Southern California born and raised professional boxer who is a lifelong Galaxy fan with Mexican and Korean roots. All proceeds from the Honor Tee will benefit the Koreatown Youth + Community Center, which serves the evolving needs of the Korean American population in the greater Los Angeles area as well as the multiethnic Koreatown community. KYCC's programs and services are directed toward recently immigrated, economically disadvantaged youth and families and promote community socioeconomic empowerment.
A limited number of tickets for the May 22 match are still available at www.lagalaxy.com/tickets. The May 22 game is trending to be the LA Galaxy's sixth consecutive home sell-out of the 2022 MLS Regular Season. The Galaxy enter the match against Houston coming off a 1-1 draw on the road against Minnesota United FC at Allianz Field on May 18. In six matches played at Dignity Health Sports Park across all competitions this season, the Galaxy hold a 4-2-0 record. Additionally, LA (6-4-2, 20 points) ranks seventh in the Supporters' Shield race, just three points behind first-place Austin FC (7-3-2, 23 points).
