May 19, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Inter Miami CF News Release
Defender Damion Lowe and goalkeeper Drake Callender have been named to the Team of the Week for week 12 of the 2022 MLS Regular Season. The pair earned their spots this week after a sterling defensive effort that saw Inter Miami maintain a clean sheet against conference-leading Philadelphia Union on Wednesday, May 18.
Lowe earned his spot in the starting XI of the MLS Team of the Week after anchoring the defense and denying Philadelphia with two blocks, two key interceptions and a heroic goal line clearance. The Jamaican international also recorded his first goal for the club last week against D.C. United.
Lowe joins Leonardo Campana as the second Inter Miami player to be included in the Team of the Week multiple times this season. Lowe received the honor in week 1, following another sturdy defensive display to secure a clean sheet in the season opener.
Callender, meanwhile, makes his first appearance in the MLS Team of the Week bench, following his Heineken Man of the Match performance against the Philadelphia Union. During the draw on the road against Philadelphia, Callender made an outstanding eight saves, six of which were from close range inside the box, earning him his first MLS clean sheet in confident fashion. Callender's save in the fifth minute of the match received recognition in SportsCenter Top 10 plays coming in No. 4 on the list.
Callender has also impressed previously, preserving clean sheets for Inter Miami in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against Miami FC and with an outstanding performance against D.C. United last weekend.
This is the fifth time for the season an Inter Miami player has been named to the Team of the Week.

Week 1 - Damion Lowe
Week 6 - Leonardo Campana (also named MLS Player of the Week)
