New York City FC News Release
New York, N.Y. - New York City Football Club (NYCFC) and Crest and Oral-B today announced a new partnership, making Crest and Oral-B the Official Oral Care Partners of the Club. NYCFC will be working with Crest and Oral-B to bring awareness to the oral health crisis in America affecting kids living in underserved communities.
Across the United States, Black children are almost twice as likely to have fair or poor oral health and Hispanic kids are nearly four times as likely to suffer as their peers*. Through the "Closing America's Smile Gap" program, Crest and Oral-B are committed to end oral health inequity for kids in America by bringing oral care access, education and oral health products to kids who need it most.
To help bring awareness, NYCFC First Team players Valentín Castellanos, Maxime Chanot, Tayvon Gray and Malte Amundsen participated in the program's Brush and Juggle Challenge. During the challenge, the players attempted to brush their teeth while juggling a soccer ball for two minutes, the recommended brushing time.
Andres Gonzalez, NYCFC Vice President of Partnerships, stated: "The smile gap is a problem affecting children from all over the country, including right here in New York City. NYCFC is committed to making a positive impact across the five boroughs and are proud to partner with Crest and Oral-B on this important initiative to help end oral care inequality through education and access to oral care products."
At Crest and Oral-B, we are thrilled to partner with New York City Football Club and create an awareness campaign to help ending oral health inequity," said Carlos Quintero, P&G Vice President, Oral Care North America. "Not every kid has a fair chance of a healthy smile today, which can have a life-altering impact on their tomorrow. With NYCFC, we're committed to being a force for good by providing more equitable access to dental care, education and products for kids.
