Lightning Reassign RW Michel Ouellet to Admirals

TAMPA BAY, FL - The Tampa Bay Lightning, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have reassigned right wing Michel Ouellet to the Admirals, Lightning executive vice president of hockey operations Brian Lawton announced.

Ouellet, 6-foot-1, 193-pounds, played in three exhibition games with Tampa Bay this season, recording a goal and an assist. He played in 64 games with the Lightning last year after signing as a free agent during the summer. He was two shy of his career-best of 19 with 17 goals and also recorded 36 points. He led all Tampa Bay skaters with a plus-11 rating, also a career-high.

The native of Rimouski, Quebec has played in 187 career NHL games with the Lightning and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He has amassed 52 goals, 116 points, 27 power-play goals and two game-winning goals. Ouellet has played in five career Stanley Cup Playoff games, all with Pittsburgh in 2007, recording two assists.

Ouellet, 26, has played in 182 career AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, recording 71 goals and 144 points. In 2004-05, he became the first player in Wilkes-Barre Scranton history to record back-to-back 30-goal seasons and tied the team record for most goals in a season with 31. He was selected as an AHL all-star in 2004-05 and was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team for the 2003-04 season.

The Admirals will host the Philadelphia Phantoms on Friday and Saturday at Scope in two preseason games. Tickets for those games are available now and are only $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years of age.

The 20th season of Admirals hockey officially kicks off on Friday and Saturday, October 10 and 11, at Scope against the Hershey Bears.
