Hurricanes Assign Two Goaltenders To Albany

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today goaltenders Justin Peters and Daniel Manzato have been assigned to their roster by the Carolina Hurricanes, their National Hockey League affiliate.

After opening their 2008 preseason schedule with a 5-3 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Wednesday night at the Times Union Center, the River Rats training camp roster now stands at 25 players. Albany will practice at RPI's Houston Field House on Friday and Saturday in preparations for their second, and final, exhibition game on Sunday, October 5th against the Portland Pirates. The two teams will play a 7:30 pm game at Wallace Civic Center in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, the second half of a twin bill of AHL preseason contests; Worcester will host Manchester at 4:00 pm.

The River Rats will open up the 2008-09 regular season schedule at home on Saturday, October 11th against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers with a 7:00 pm face off at the Times Union Center. River Rats season ticket packages and individual game tickets are on sale now for Albany's 16th season of operations in the American Hockey League and their third year as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes.
