Canucks send three to Manitoba

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced today they have reduced their training camp roster by three players and re-assigned them to Manitoba. As a result, the Canucks now have 31 players remaining in camp.

The following players were re-assigned to the Moose:

Alexandre Bolduc Left Wing

Shaun Heshka Defence

Cory Schneider Goaltender

Bolduc, 23, enjoyed a career season in 2007-08 with the Moose. The Montreal, PQ native appeared in 70 games and scored career highs in goals (18), assists (19), and points (37) to finish sixth in team scoring. He also collected 93 penalty minutes and ended up with three powerplay goals, a team-high three shorthanded goals, and a pair of game-winning goals (Jan. 5/08 vs. Rochester & Feb. 12/08 vs. iowa). He was named the winner of the team's Blue Cross Unsung Hero Award at the end of the season.

Heshka, 23, appeared in 77 games with the Moose last season and collected 30 points (9-21-30) and 59 penalty minutes. The Mellville, SK native has played in 134 games with the Moose in his two-year pro career where he has 36 points (11-25-36) and 73 penalty minutes.

Schneider, 22, appeared in 36 games in his rookie professional season with the Moose. In that time, the Marblehead, MA native compiled a record of 20-12-2 with a goals against average of 2.28 and a save percentage of .913 - both of which ranked second amongst AHL rookie netminders. Schneider was named the Rbk Edge/AHL Rookie of the Month for March and started all six Calder Cup games for Manitoba in the playoffs where he posted a 2-4 record with a 1.92 goals against average and a .938 save percentage.
