Monsters to Give Northeast Ohio Youth a Voice and a Vote
October 2, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Cleveland Monsters News Release
On November 4th, the youth of Northeast Ohio don't have a vote, but on October 17th the Lake Erie Monsters will give them a chance to vote at Quicken Loans Arena. The first 5,000 fans age 17 and under at the Monsters vs. Norfolk Admirals game will have their choice of either a Barack Obama or John McCain bobblehead, courtesy of STP Oil Filters. The future of America belongs to our youth and their voice will be heard on October 17th at The Q!
These sure-to-be hot collectable bobbleheads will have each candidate dressed in a Monsters game jersey (see photo attached). 2,500 of each candidate will be handed out. Fans age 17 and under will be able to choose which bobblehead they would like upon entering The Q. The candidate giving away the most bobbleheads or being the first to give away all 2,500 of their bobbles will be projected to be the next President of the United States, as selected by Monsters youth fans.
"This election will have a Monster-sized impact on our future, so what better place for our youth to weigh in with their opinion than a Monsters game?" said Monsters President Kerry Bubolz. "We wish each candidate the best of luck and may the best bobble win!"
Friday, October 17th will also be the first of six Dollar Dog Fridays during the 2008-09 Monsters regular season, presented by Pepsi, Sugardale and FOX Sports Ohio. Hot dogs and 16-ounce sodas will be just one dollar each. The game will also be the first Tri-C Postgame Family Open Skate.
Single game tickets for the 2008-09 Monsters hockey season are on sale now and start at just $10. Tickets are available at (216) 420-0000, LakeErieMonsters.com, at the Quicken Loans Arena Box Office, and all TicketMaster locations.
