(SAVANNAH, Ga.) Mike Foltynewicz threw seven shutout innings and earned his South Atlantic League-leading 14th win of the season as the Lexington Legends pounded out a 10-1 win over the Savannah Sand Gnats Tuesday night.

Justin Gominsky drove in four runs for the Legends. His two-run single opened the scoring in the top of the second inning. The Legends added another run in the top of the third when Jordan Kreke scored from third on a balk charged to Savannah starter Alex Panteliodis.

Lexington broke the game open with four runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh.

Brandon Meredith had a two-run triple in the sixth, and Gominsky got his third RBI of the night with a single as the Legends sent 10 batters to the plate while taking a 7-0 lead.

In the seventh, Matt Duffy led off with a walk, Meredith doubled and Jordan Scott walked to load the bases. A sacrifice fly by Jobduan Morales scored Duffy and moved Meredith to third. Gominsky singled home Meredith to make the score 9-0. Ryan McCurdy was hit by a pitch to load the bases again, and Chan Jong Moon drew a walk to force in the Legends' final run.

Savannah scored its only run in the bottom of the ninth with two outs when Albert Cordero doubled and Charley Thurber singled.

Foltynewicz (14-3) allowed four hits, walked one and struck out six to get the win. He's one victory short of the Legends single-season record of 15 set by Mike Nannini in 2001.

Panteliodis (4-5) worked five and two-thirds innings and took the loss. He allowed 10 hits and seven runs, six earned.

The Legends remain three and one-half games behind the first-place Rome Braves in the South Atlantic League Southern Division. Rome shut out Greenville 5-0.

The series is even at one win apiece and concludes Wednesday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
