AUGUSTA, GA. - Trailing 2-0 after a 40-minute rain delay, the Augusta GreenJackets scored twice as soon as the game resumed to tie Lakewood 2-2 and scored two runs down the stretch to win 4-2 Tuesday night.

Brian Pointer's two-run triple with one out in the top 3rd inning spotted Lakewood an early 2-0 lead. However, Lakewood's offense went dormant against Augusta's starting pitcher Clayton Blackburn who collected his seventh win of the season and lowered his ERA to 2.63 by allowing two earned runs in seven innings. He struck out nine BlueClaws to extend his league-lead in strikeouts to 127 in 116.1 innings pitched (9.85 K/9).

Three of Augusta's four runs were unearned thanks to three Lakewood errors in the ballgame. Lakewood has committed six errors in the first two games of the series which has led to four unearned runs for the 'Jackets.

Before heading the Greensboro, Lakewood and Augusta will play the third and final game of their series. Lakewood sends righty Gabriel Arias (4-6, 3.76) to the mound against Augusta's Kyle Crick (5-6, 2.39) who would lead the South Atlantic League in ERA if he qualified with innings pitched.

First pitch for Wednesday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
