Savannah Sand Gnats News Release
Savannah, GA - The Lexington Legends snapped the Savannah Sand Gnats' four-game winning streak with a 10-1 win Tuesday night at Historic Grayson Stadium. The four-game winning streak was Savannah's longest of the second half.
The Legends (28-23/67-53) built a 10-0 lead as the Gnats (22-28/63-54) did not score until two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning when RF Charley Thurber singled home DH Albert Cordero who had doubled earlier in the frame.
Lexington scored in four different frames. The Legends began the scoring with two runs in the second inning, added a run in the third, and then chased Gnats starter Alex Panteliodis with four runs in the sixth inning. The seven runs Panteliodis allowed were his most in any start since May 16.
