HICKORY, NC - After the 'Dads finish an important road series this Wednesday against the 2nd-place Hagerstown Suns, who hold a narrow half-game lead ahead of Hickory in the standings, the Crawdads come home for their last weekend home series of the regular season. The Crawdads are 27-23 in the second half and are in 3rd place, just 1.0 game behind the 1st-place West Virginia Power in the Northern Division Second Half Standings. Hickory is 63-56 overall in 2012, good for 3rd in the overall standings in the Northern Division .

All-Star RHP Phil Klein called up to High-A Myrtle Beach

Crawdads All-Star RHP Phil Klein was promoted by the Texas Rangers on Monday to High-A Myrtle Beach, becoming the latest 'Dad to get the call to the next level this season .

The Gahanna, Ohio native made 33 appearances with eight saves for Hickory this year. He was 6-0 with a team-best 1.90 ERA, in addition to 53 strikeouts in 52.0 innings pitched. He had given up only two earned runs in his last 10 appearances for the Crawdads before being called up .

Klein is the 10th Crawdad to be promoted this season, joining INF Hanser Alberto, INF Edwin Garcia, INF Jhonny Gomez, OF Chris Grayson, RHP Luke Jackson, RHP Nick McBride, RHP Randol Rojas, and OF Jeremy Williams on the Pelicans. RHP Jose Monegro was also promoted to High-A Myrtle Beach, but is back with the Crawdads .

Player and Team Notes

-C Kellin Deglan's solo home run on Monday in Hagerstown was the Crawdads 100th team homer of the season. They are only the third team to reach 100 bombs so far in 2012.

-The Crawdads have a .409 slugging percentage, good for 3rd in the SAL.

-Hickory also ranks 2nd in the league with 228 doubles.

-Deglan is batting .500 (7-for-14) in his last five games with two home runs and five RBIs. He is hitting .419 (13-for-31) with three homers and eight RBIs in his last nine contests.

-INF Alejandro Selen is batting .489 (22-for-45) with runners in scoring position, the highest of any Crawdad.

-INF Rougned Odor is hitting .320 (55-for-172) with runners on base this season, trailing only Selen (.394).

-OF Zach Cone is hitting .316 (12-for-38) in his last 10 games with six runs scored.

-INF Drew Robinson has the 3rd-most walks in the SAL (74) and leads the team with 56 RBIs.

-LHP Andrew Faulkner has 11 strike outs in his last 10.2 innings pitched. He posted a season-high seven strikeouts through 5.2 shutout innings in Hickory's 2-0 win in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against Asheville.

-All-Star RHP Nick Martinez earned the win and gave up only two hits through 6.0 scoreless innings in his last start against the Asheville Tourists on Saturday.

-RHP Jerad Eickhoff is tied for 2nd in the league with 11 wins.
