West Sacramento - The Sacramento River Cats scored a total of eight runs in the 7th and 8th innings and withheld a 5-run 9th by Salt lake to defeat the Stingers, 9-7, on Friday night at Raley Field. Entering the bottom of the seventh inning, the two teams were mired in a 1-1 tie but combined to score 14 runs in the game's final 3 frames. Bobby Smith (2-for4, HR, 3 RBI)and Jack Cust (2-for-3, 2 R) led the Cats offense as the team goes to 46-36 on the year. The River Cats and Stingers square off again tomorrow, as RHP Chad Bradford (0-0, 0.00) makes his first rehab appearance of the season for Sacramento against Salt Lake's RHP Scott Schneider (1-1, 5.90).
