TONIGHT: The Royals face Albuquerque in game 2 of a 4-game series at Rosenblatt Stadium, where Omaha has lost four straight home games. Air-time is 6:45 on Magic 1490 and at www.Oroyals.com.

LAST NIGHT: The Isotopes took advantage of a Justin Gemoll error and two wild pitches by Jeremy Affeldt (0-1) to score three runs and break a 2-all tie in the 8th inning. Albuquerque went to win 6-2, giving the ‘Topes their fifth consecutive win over the Royals and 10th victory in 13 meetings this season. Ben Howard (3-2) picked up the win for Albuquerque, firing 2.2 hitless innings of shutout relief. The Royals rallied to tie the game with two runs in the 6th, capped off by Aaron Guiel's run-scoring double, for his team-leading 55th RBI.

ROYALS REPORT: Danny Tamayo turned in Omaha's 15th quality start of the season last night, allowing two runs in 6.0 innings. Over his last five games (four starts), Tamayo is 1-1 with a 3.65 ERA. *** The Royals' four-game home losing streak is their longest of the season at Rosenblatt. In going a PCL-worst 13-20 at home, the Royals have been out-hit .294 to .268, out-homered 37-29 and out-scored 202-165. Omaha owns a 25-23 road mark, out-scoring its hosts 244-220 in those games. *** Alejandro Prieto was in the Royals' lineup last night for the first since injuring his ribs and left leg in a play at home plate on June 9. He doubled in his first at-bat, extending his hitting streak to seven games, his longest of the season. Prieto is hitting .370 (10-27) with a home run and five RBI during the string. *** Paul Phillips has hit in 14 of his last 15 contests, going 22-for-58 (.379) with two homers and ten RBI. *** Cory Aldridge has hit in seven of his eight games at Triple-A, after beginning the season with Double-A Wichita. *** Guiel has hit at a .333 clip (9-27) over his last seven tilts, smacking four home runs and knocking in eight runs. *** Denny Hocking is in an 11-for-64 (.172) slump, dropping his average from .316 on June 6 to .259 as of today. *** Gemoll has four hits in his last 32 at bats (.125), dipping his average from .306 to .283.

STARTERS: RH Frank Castillo (6-4, 4.61) vs. RH Kyle Snyder (0-0, 1.56)

Snyder makes his 4th rehab assignment start. The 27-year old righty is coming back from a strained shoulder. His last start was Sunday at Iowa - a no-decision for Snyder in Omaha's 9-4 win (3.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 K). In his three starts, Snyder is 0-0 with a 1.86 ERA (9.2 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 3 BB, 4 K). 2 R, 0 BB, 0 K). Snyder began the season in Omaha's bullpen, making three relief appearances (0-0, 1.17) before being called up by KC on April 16. He was 0-0 with a 4.15 ERA in six relief outings for KC. He missed all of the 2004 season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. When Snyder is recovered from this latest shoulder ailment, KC plans to put him in the starting rotation. KC selected Snyder in the 1st round (7th overall) of the 1999 draft out of the University of North Carolina.
