Late AirHogs Rally Hands T-Bones Fifth Straight Loss

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones (7-11) dropped their fifth straight game Tuesday night as the Grand Prairie AirHogs (13-5) won the second game of a four-game series, 5-2, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
With 3,241 on hand, the game remained scoreless until the third inning when the T-Bones took advantage of two Grand Prairie errors, scoring two runs against Josh Rainwater (4-0) without hitting the ball out of the infield. Rico Washington drove in the first run of the inning with an RBI groundout, and was followed by an RBI single by Ray Sadler.
Reid Santos (2-2) held Grand Prairie in check until the top of the sixth when John Alonso homered to begin the inning, making the score 2-1. In the top of the seventh, Greg Porter tied the game at two with an RBI single, chasing Santos from the game. Kyle Dahman entered and immediately surrendered a two-run home run to Alonso as the AirHogs took a 4-2 lead.
Santos took the loss after allowing three runs on nine hits over six and two-thirds innings. The left-hander struck out nine batters in the contest. Rainwater remained perfect on the season after allowing two unearned runs on five hits in seven innings of work.
The AirHogs picked up their final run in the eighth on one hit and two errors. Dahman faced the first three batters of the inning, failing to get an out before Wade Morrison closed out the frame. Ryan Hook pitched a scoreless ninth to finish the game for Kansas City.
Jon Hunton threw a perfect ninth to earn his league-leading eighth save of the season.
Jimmy Mojica's 17 game on-base streak ended after he went 0-for-four. The T-Bones pitchers struck out 13 batters, tying a team record that was set at Calgary on September 3, 2005.
