Larks Have the High Ground in 13-4 Win
July 23, 2021 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Bismarck Larks News Release
The Larks completed an impressive two-game sweep of the Duluth Huskies, winning 13-4 on a Fetzer Electric Fireworks Friday and Star Wars night at the ballpark.
Despite the loss, Huskies starter, Ronnie Voacolo, was good on the mound. The righty tossed 5.2 innings and allowed four runs - all of which coming in the sixth inning. Through the first five innings, the Larks offense was kept off-balance due to Voacolo's slurve. That all changed when Ryan Curran delivered a big 2 RBI single into center to tie the game at four.
The Larks got a strong start from Ryan Carmack. The righty turned in five innings allowing just three runs, giving his team a chance to come back. A common theme for the Larks all season has been their impressive bullpen, with the bullpen combining to go the final four innings and only allowing one run. Of the impressive performances, Kevin Wiseman continues to show consistent velocity on the fastball. Wiseman hit 93 on the gun for the Metro-Area Ambulance Fastest Pitch. His ERA sits at an impressive 1.13.
Spencer Sarringar delivered the hit of the night when he belted a towering two-run home run for the Fetzer Electric Play of The Game. His fifth homer of the season broke the 4-4 tie. The Larks would bat around in the same inning, putting a nine spot on the scoreboard to win 13-4.
The Homestand continues for the Larks as they take on the Waterloo Bucks for four games. Prior to Saturday's game, it will feature another ND Beef Commision Home Run Derby. ÃÂ First pitch for tomorrow's game is slated for 6:35 as the Larks go for four wins in a row.
