Augusta Lynx News Release

Charlotte, NC - Ryan Lang scored twice and added an assist to lead the Augusta Lynx to a 4-1 win over the Charlotte Checkers on Saturday night at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

Lang would score in the second and third periods with help from new linemates Jamie Johnson and J.B. Bittner, his team leading fifth and sixth goals of the year.

Louis Goulet led off the scoring for Augusta with a power play goal at 9:30 of the opening frame, firing home a one-time shot off a Lang pass that beat Charlotte goaltender Alex Westlund high glove for a 1-0 lead.

Johnson would follow with a power play marker of his own, scooping the puck high glove once again and tucking it underneath the crossbar at 18:59 from Bittner and Sean Blanchard for a 2-0 margin.

Bruce Graham ruined the shutout bid by Augusta's Dave McKee at 16:02 of the second period with a wrist shot that beat the Lynx netminder up high for the Checkers' only goal. McKee earned his fifth win of the year with 37 saves on the night.

The Lynx travel to Charleston to take on the South Carolina Stingrays at 4:05 pm Sunday, with radio coverage beginning with the Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show one half-hour before puck drop on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
