Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Reading, Pa. (November 12, 2006) - The Johnstown Chiefs snapped their three-game losing streak today, recording a 5-3 win over the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Gus Katsuras opened the scoring for Johnstown, picking up the rebound of a shot by Stanislav Lascek and firing it past Reading's Ryan Munce at the 11:44 mark of the first period. Lascek would give the Chiefs a 2-0 lead at 14:24 of the first, after taking a pass from Radek Smolenak and breaking in on Munce, Lascek made a nifty move and deposited the puck in the Reading net. Just under five minutes later, Lascek would score again, giving Johnstown a 5-3 lead at the 19:16 mark of the first.

Arpad Mihaly scored for Reading at the 19:20 mark of the first on a broken play, when Chiefs goaltender Gerald Coleman couldn't control Chris Bala's centering pass from behind the goal line and Mihaly put the loose puck in the net.

The Royal's Greg Hogeboom was awarded a penalty shot as he broke in alone with Reading shorthanded, and he made a forehand move in the low slot and beat Coleman high to the glove side at 5:18 of the second. Hogeboom would score his second of the game at 15:01 of the third, pulling Reading within one.

A minute and eleven second later, David Spina picked up the rebound of a shot by Doug Andress to give the Chiefs a 4-3 lead. Maxime Boisclair added an empty-netter at 19:59.
