LaBarbera Named To AHL First All-Star Team

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, and the American Hockey League announced today that goaltender Jason LaBarbera has been named to the 2006-07 AHL First All-Star Team, as voted by AHL players and media in each of the league's 27 member cities.

LaBarbera, 27, has appeared in 60 of the Monarchs 73 games this season collecting a record of 37-20-1, a goals-against-average of 2.21 and a .933 save-percentage. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound native of Burnaby, British Columbia, leads the AHL in games played (60), minutes (3,502), saves (1,802), shots faced (1,931) wins (37), shutouts (seven) and save percentage (.933). LaBarbera's goals-against-average of 2.21 is ranked second in the league. The All-Star goaltender has set new franchise records for the Monarchs in appearances, minutes, wins, losses and saves in the seasons, as well as saves in a game (59 against Hartford on January 5, 2007). LaBarbera was named to the 2003-04 AHL First All-Star Team as a member of the Hartford Wolf Pack.

LaBarbera has led the Monarchs to their sixth consecutive Calder Cup Playoff berth and is narrowing in on an Atlantic Division title.
